Onions (Sweet)
Onions contain carotenoids, B complex vitamins, vitamin C and calcium. They are universally valued for their medicinal properties, which include improvement of kidney function and antibacterial qualities.
Candy and Yellow Onions are keepers, while Walla Wallas need to be kept cool and used more quickly.
Cut off ends and peel at least one layer of skin. Serve sweet onions sliced raw or sauteed on hamburgers, add mild onions to a green salad, or dip in an egg and flour mixture and fry for onion rings.
