Kohlrabi is a member of the cabbage family, that looks and tastes in many ways like a turnip, except it grows above ground.

Like beet tops, kohlrabi greens are also edible. To prepare, peel off the tough outer skin. Serve raw in salads, or cook in boiling water until tender and serve with butter, salt, and pepper or other seasonings.
